Bron in Kitwe,zambia in 1953,Flinto Chandia was awarded a british Council Schoolarship to study in the United Kingdom ,where he obtainted a Diploma in Fine Art from the City and Guilds of London in 1983.in 1991 he was commissioned to execte a gigantic sculptural piece at the COMESA centre ,(formerly meridian Bank Centre )in Lusaka.Chandia has served on the Zambian art scene in many capacities as chairman of the mbile international Artists workshop in 1995 and VCA ,lusaka branch .he has exhibited extensively at home and abroad .He recerived a Ngoma award in 1998.He is also an accomplished composer and recording musician.he lives and works in lusaka .in 2009 chandia was awarded a medal of recognitional by the zambian president rupiah banda at state house for his outstanding works as an artist in Zambia
