Shadreck Simukanga

Nationality: Zambian

Art Education: In 1979, Shadreck was enrolled at Evelyn Hone college to take up Art Teachers Diploma and joined in ceramics.

Biography:
Was born in 1955 in Ndola, but lived in Zimbabwe before independence and started his primary education in Bulawayo. Shadreck came back to Zambia when the fight for freedom intensified in Zimbabwe. He was then enrolled at the Railway Catholic school in Kabwe. It was at this school where he received encouragement to develop his creativity from his teachers, in 1979. He grew up in Ndola, went to High school in the same time. In 1979, Shadrack was enrolled at Evelyn Hone college to take up Art Teachers Diploma and joined in ceramics. He taught at Munali Secondary school and later elevated to Curriculum specialist at Curriculum development center at the Ministry of Education. Simukanga attended several Art residences. Some of these are Delfina Studio in London, Bern, Switzerland in 2003, Mbile in Zambia and more. Simukanga also took up admistrative positions at VAT where he served as  VAT vice Chairman and Mbile committee member in 1995. Simukanga was known for his pencil drawings.
