Biography:
Born in Livingstone, Southern Province Zambia in, Nondo Chansa is visual artist as well as a photographer. He began creating artwork at a young age inspired by his father who also happens to be an artist. Nondo obtained an Art Teachers Diploma in 2019 from Evelyn Hone College in Lusaka. He also holds a certificate in First Aid from Zambia Red Cross. During his time in college he once worked at ‘Paint and Sip from 2018 to 2019.
Nondo is studying Digital Media at Open Window University; he is also pursuing Contemporary Art at the Livingstone Office for Contemporary Art (LoCA). I worked at Mwimbi Fine Art as an assistant to the curator, and his work experience there has helped him acquire more knowledge about contemporary art. In his journey of art, he has met a good number of Zambian visual artists like David Makala, Mulenga Chafilwa, Nukwase Tembo, Anawana Haloba, Ng’andwe Mwaba to mention but a few. This time has been an eye open to him. He currently lives and works in Lusaka as has the Art Director at Chaminuka Lodge and Nature Reserve. His work experience over the past years in the art industry has been an eye opener.
